Tips for the Best Pork Roast
- Pork shoulder gives the most tender, shred-worthy results, while pork loin is leaner and best sliced rather than shredded.
- Searing the pork and caramelizing the onions before slow cooking adds rich, restaurant-quality flavor.
- Let the cooked pork rest for 10 minutes before slicing or shredding to retain its juices.
- The leftovers make excellent sandwiches, sliders, tacos, or baked potatoes topped with the onion gravy.
