Ingredients

Mushroom Gravy
- 2 tbsp butter
- 8 oz (225 g) mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Make the Patties
- In a large bowl, combine:
- Ground beef
- Breadcrumbs
- Egg
- Milk
- Worcestershire sauce
- Garlic
- Onion powder
- Dijon mustard
- Seasonings
- Mix gently until combined.
- Shape into 4–6 oval patties.
2. Brown the Steaks
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear patties for 3–4 minutes per side until browned.
- Remove and set aside.
3. Make the Mushroom Gravy
- In the same skillet, melt butter.
- Add mushrooms and onions.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes until softened and golden.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
- Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir for 1 minute.
- Slowly whisk in beef broth.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer until the gravy thickens.
4. Finish Cooking
- Return the beef patties to the skillet.
- Spoon gravy over the top.
- Cover and simmer for 15–20 minutes until cooked through and tender.
