For the Cake
- 1½ cups (190 g) all-purpose flour

- ½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (150 g) granulated sugar

- ½ cup (120 ml) milk
- ¼ cup (60 g) sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
Instructions
1. Prepare the Pan
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9-inch (23 cm) round cake pan or a 9-inch cast-iron skillet.
2. Make the Apple Layer

3. Make the Cake Batter
- In a medium bowl, whisk together:

- Cinnamon
- Apple pie spice (if using)
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
