Ingredients
Fish
- 1½ lbs (700 g) firm white fish fillets
(tilapia, cod, haddock, snapper, basa, or pomfret) - 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon oil
Masala Marinade
- 3 tablespoons thick yogurt
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon rice flour or corn flour (for a light crust)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander
Instructions
1. Prepare the Fish
- Pat fish fillets dry with paper towels.
- Make small cuts on thicker pieces so the marinade absorbs well.
- Rub with lemon juice and let sit for 5 minutes.
2. Marinate
- Mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, spices, salt, flour, oil, and coriander.
- Coat the fish evenly.
- Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).
3. Air Fry the Fish
- Preheat air fryer to 380°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Lightly grease the basket.
- Place fish pieces in a single layer.
- Spray lightly with oil.
- Air fry for:
- 10–12 minutes for thin fillets
- 12–15 minutes for thicker pieces
- Flip halfway through cooking.
Fish is ready when it flakes easily with a fork and reaches 145°F (63°C) internally.
