French Toast Bites are small, crispy-on-the-outside, soft-and-custardy-inside pieces of classic French toast β perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a fun snack.
Ingredients
- 6 slices thick bread (brioche, challah, or Texas toast works best)
- 3 large eggs
- Β½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp butter (for cooking)
Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- ΒΌ cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- Cut the bread: Slice bread into bite-sized cubes.
- Make the custard: Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and salt together.
- Coat bread: Dip bread cubes into the mixture, letting them soak briefly without becoming soggy.
- Cook: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook bites for 5β7 minutes, turning until golden on all sides.
- Coat: Toss warm bites in cinnamon sugar.
- Serve: Enjoy with maple syrup, honey, powdered sugar, or fresh berries.
