Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or chicken)
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
- 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- 2 green onions, finely chopped (optional)
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 egg, beaten (optional, for brushing)
Instructions
- Cook the sausage.
- Brown sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into small crumbles.
- Drain excess grease and let cool slightly.
- Make the filling.
- Mix cooked sausage with softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper until well combined.
- Prepare the dough.
- Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles.
- Place a spoonful of sausage mixture on the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll.
- Roll each triangle from the wide end toward the point, tucking the filling inside.
- Bake.
- Place rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Brush with beaten egg if desired.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Serve warm.
